Delhi Lakshmi Yojana 2026: Requirements, Eligibility and Benefits

New CM Rekha Gupta has now fulfilled the promise and finally approved the welfare scheme in favour of all the ladies of Delhi. The scheme was announced as the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana. Through this scheme, the government promises to distribute monthly financial benefits to all eligible women in the state. After approving this scheme, the government also started the registration process from 1st August 2025.

All the eligible women who want to get the financial benefit of Rs.2,500 per month via this scheme will have to complete the registration. The first instalment of this scheme is going to be distributed by the government on 28th August 2026. Delhi Lakshmi Yojana

The scheme was officially approved on 28 July, and from 1st August 2026, the registration portal will also open for registration by the Government. So that the government will pay this monthly aid to every eligible woman of Rs.2,500/-. The government decided to pay the amount during the biggest festival for women, i.e. Raksha Bandhan, through the Direct Benefits Transfer Scheme.

This year, Raksha Bandhan is celebrated by women on 28 August. Every eligible woman of the state of Delhi will have to complete the registration. Because after the registration government also follow the verification process for the applications. If you complete all the formalities like Registration and verification, then you will receive your first instalment of the scheme on 28 August.

Why Scheme Launches?

It is very simple; the government wants to support all the women who belong to the economically weaker section by giving them a fixed monthly allowance. And during the election campaign, the government already made a promise to the women voters of Delhi state for this allowance. The monthly allowance of Rs.2,500 is enough for the women to use and fulfil their basic needs. They can also contribute the amount to the financial needs of their families, etc.

Who Qualifies? The eligibility of the scheme?

• Women who are permanent residents of the state of Delhi or living in the state of Delhi for at least 10 years will be eligible.
• The age of the applicant lies between 21 to 60 years.
• Only women from the economically weaker section are targeted in this scheme. So the annual income of the whole family of the woman must be Rs.2.5 Lakhs.
• From one family, one family member will be eligible to receive such benefit. If by chance multiple members from a single family applied for the scheme, then the eldest woman of the family will be selected for the scheme.

• Having an annual income more than the income criteria of the scheme.
• Already receiving the financial benefits from any other scheme.

• Whose annual electricity consumption must be more than 2,400 units

Check List

• Aadhaar Card: This document can be used for the personal identification of the eligible women of the state.
• Bonafide or Domicile: To show proof of permanent or more than 10 years’ residence in Delhi State.
• Income Certificate: To fulfil the income criteria, submit a fresh income certificate issued by the authority.
• Age Proof: It is also compulsory to submit age proof because only women aged from 21 to 60 years are eligible, and by chance, on receiving multiple applications from family members, selection of the women can be made according to their age.
• No Criminal Background Record: Applicants don’t have any criminal background in their past life.
• Additional Documents Required: Photo and Signature, Ration Card, DL, Electricity Bill
• Endorsement Letter: Given by MP and MLA of the constituency of the applicant

Mode of Receiving Payment Under Delhi 2,500 Financial Aid Scheme

According to the Chief Minister of the Delhi Government, beneficiaries will get two payment options to receive the payment.

• First Payment Option: In the first mode of payment under the scheme, Rs.2,500, the 1,500 will be given to them in an RD or FD account, and the rest of the 1000 rupees amount will be transferred to their Digital Wallet. The CBDC Digital Rupees amount can be used by the women to buy any basic need for them.
• 2nd Mode of Payment Option: In the 2nd option, the whole amount of Rs.2,500 can be given to them in their RD and FD Account. So that women can save their money and get the financial capital.

From 1st August 2026, when the registration lines open to complete the registration process, the official portal was also started by the government. The Name of the portal is dly.delhi.gov.in. With the help of this portal, complete details like eligibility Criteria, Documents needed, Registration process, Registration Link, and a link to track your submitted application are all available. Delhi Lakshmi Yojana Registration Process

• First of all, you need to check the eligibility Terms and then complete all the documents related to your eligibility conditions.
• Then access the official portal, i.e. dly.delhi.gov.in.
• Now, after reaching on the portal, you have to click on Click to Apply For the Scheme.
• After clicking on the link, the login page opens here, but if you are new, then below you get the link Register Now. Click On It.
• Here, the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana Registration Form opens, and enter the Aadhaar Card Number, Name of the beneficiaries according to the Aadhaar Card, Gender, Date of birth and solve the Captcha Code. Click on Continue.
• Now Login the account and fill the rest of the details.
• Start scanning documents one by one and then upload them with the form.
• Submit all the things to complete the registration.
• Then officials verify the application form according to the documents, and after verification, the first instalment will be released in favour of eligible beneficiaries.
