To boost the regular attendance of the girl students in the school and ensure about the safety, the Delhi Government has now come up with its new scheme titled “Vidya Vahini Scheme”. Under this scheme, the government is going to distribute bicycles to the girl students of the 9th class. The scheme was announced and introduced by the Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta. It will also help all the girl students to commute to school from their homes in an easy and secure way with security. If they get an easy way to commute from home to school, then it will also help them to continue their education.
In this scheme, bicycles will be distributed to the students phase-wise according to their city. A total of 1.4 lakh girl students of 9th class are going to get the benefits of the bicycle. Scheme launching event is being conducted on 2nd August at East Vinod Nagar Sports Complex. During the Launch event, 3,000 students will receive the bicycle in the scheme as per the first phase of the scheme from the government.
Delhi Vidya Vahini Scheme
To remove the problem of Transportation among the girl students, which forces the students to drop out of their education, the government rolled out this scheme in the state. In the Delhi Vidya Vahini Scheme, the government has now decided to distribute bicycles to all the eligible girl students of 9th class in phase wise. If they get the proper transportation, then girls can attend school regularly and also complete their higher education.

Not only to commute from home to school, but when girls get the bicycle, they also get confidence and independence. They attend school on time and come back to their homes on time. Now Parents also do not worry so much about their safety. It will help the school to improve the attendance record of the girls.
This is also the way to solve the transportation problems faced by the girl students. To distribute bicycles to the eligible students, the government approved a total of 90 Crore rupees for this scheme.

Distribution Bicycle
- Total Period of Distribution: As this scheme is launched on 31st July, the government decided to distribute all bicycles within one month.
- Deadline of Scheme: All bicycles will be distributed to all the students on or before 31st August 2026.
- First Phase: The first phase distribution of the Cycle is conducted during the launch event of the scheme, and on the same day total 3,000 bicycle distributed to the students.
Benefits and Verification Process
